Special Needs

Here at Toybox we understand the importance to identify the need for additional support as early as possible. Without it children will not get the help they need at the right time, in the way that is right for them. Early support for children includes listening to the family and the individual, sharing concerns and taking part in two way communications.

For children with more severe and complex additional support needs we feel it is important to plan with input from the child, the family, the educator and external agencies. This enables us to coordinate support needed and promote learning ensuring it is effective for the individual child.

At Toybox we have a designated person to ensure support and training is cascaded to staff working with children on a daily basis. This person will attend specific training for children with additional needs. This specialised training alongside strong partnerships with parents will ensure we can provide a detailed learning journey for the individual child.
